Terry Pratchett covers

I am a huge Terry Pratchett fan. I have been for years. I remember reading his books in high school, laughing out loud, startling other people. I was super happy and proud when I was asked to do a series of book cover illustrations to his novels for German market. I started with the "Science of the Discworld" series, followed by the original Discworld series. Here they are:

Children's illustrations

Every now and then I like to paint something light and bright and child friendly. Here are two illustrations for a little tale that I made up about Toby the Anxious Dinosaur and one made for Trojan Horse was a Unicorn contest.

Angel

A present for my friend's birthday. Agnieszka has a nickname "Angel" and she also is a part of knighthood. She has short hair but she always wanted to have long wavy strands so I gave them to her. It was a surprise.

The Mermaid

This painting was a part of the Polish Digital Art exhibition held in May 2014 in Warsaw. It was accompanied by the first in the world auction of digital paintings (this painting included)

Cersei Lannister

I am a huge Game of Thrones fan. Cersei Lannister is a character everyone hates more or less and for a good reason. Yet the show wouldn't be the same without her. I think Lena Headley who plays the role of Cersei has the most unique face structure and I always wanted to paint her.

Nick Offerman

Any "Parks and Recreation" fans? I am a huge one. Love the sense of humor and weird mocumentary style. Nick plays Ron Swanson, a character you can't not love (does it even make sense? - hope so!)

Johnny Lee Miller

I don't think Johnny Lee Miller beats Benedict Cumberbatch at being Sherlock but I love "Elementary".

London self portrait

Another one of my self portraits. The aim was really to paint this scene with a girl but it turns out it's much easier to just pose myself than ask others to do it for me so in the end it became a self portrait. I also like painting myself in a way. There is nothing narcissistic about it - I hope - it has more to do with the fact that I can dress up and try new things on without having to actually do it. Think of all the dresses I could wear if I only wanted to!

Revenge of the Snow White

This is an illustration that I like very much for many reasons. I tried to keep it very painterly and loose but crisp at he same time. I was going for a direct light that would focus on Snow White. My inspiration for the illustration was partially Andrzej Sapkowski books and partially it was just my weird desire to twist things around.

Zino Restaurant Owners commission

This is one my favourite private commissions so far -done for wives of the Zino Restaurant owners. I love how cheerful Giuseppe, Nick and Kevin look, love the Colorado view and the fact that I could add so many interesting props to the painting. If it looks sunny and happy it's because I really enjoyed painting it.
This is also one of very rare paintings when I painted two versions, though my favourite one is the one with all three of the owners.

Long time no see

Pencil Art by Katarzyna Oleska Yup, It's been a while. I haven't been posting anything on my blog focused all on my website www.katarzynaoleska.com but I am planning to make up for it. I am going to try to post all that I have worth posting grouped into some logic topics, and after that I will make sure things get uploaded as they go. I'll start with my traditional pencil drawings from a while ago. Many of them were drawn on the basis of existing photos so they really show my style rather than creativity as such but they are a vital part of my style development and I still like them a lot. Hope you will too.
