I can't believe so much time has passed since my last blog post. It's almost outrageous, but I will try to make it up by posting a couple of things at once. I will start with the caricature of Lucy Liu.

Two new Halloween inspired illustrations. The witch one is a repainted old piece that I liked very much but there were a couple of things I wasn't very happy about. I decided to correct them because I just didn't feel like letting it go. I'm really hapy how it came out!

Shakespeare in Love

Recently I was invited to a group caricature exhibition that's going to be held in July in Seoul, South Korea. I feel very grateful for this opportunity as my work is going to be exhibited amongst oworks of the top caricaturists in the world!
The theme chosen for the exhibition was "Oscar Winning" movie poster and I chose "Shakespeare in Love". I decided to emphasize the role of Elizabeth I in the developement of theatre and at the same time to lessen the importance of the two main characters who would normally take the main spot in any of the "Shakespear in Love" posters. I thought that their relationship on screen was not exploited enough. I was not captivated by their love. That's why I turned them into puppets. Elizabeth's puppets - since they both acted in a play that she sponsored and encouraged.

This time Meryl Streep. She is an amazing artist and a great personality.

Spring is comming

Spring is comming and it inspired me to draw a bee. Bees are endagered and it is no joke. If they go we might go too.  Bees need to survive. I know some people are allergic to bee stings and might not enjoy being around them but bees are responsible for pollination of many plants that we need to survive!

Continuing the series of Polish caricatures. Here is the president who is violating Constitution and other Laws but steers clear of justice thanks to the government.

Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton

It's hard to not notice that Hillary has been copying Sanders since she realised how powerful some of his statements are. Here is my comment on that.

 

Sketches & Krita Tutorial

Every now and then I talk to someone over Skype and while we have a conversation I draw. I love those "sessions" because I can both relax while exchanging ideas and thoughts and I can mindlessly doodle. Here is the latest one.

Krita Interview & Videos

A while ago I was interviewed by Krita Team about my illustrations to Terry Pratchett's Discworld series (here is the English version and French translation)

Krita is a free open-source program that you can download from here. I have been working with it for a while now and I love it. In fact I created my Terry Pratchett covers in it. Krita can be moody sometimes as it's being developed all the time but it is a great painting tool.

Here are two of my videos on painting in Krita. One was a part of the interview and one is a tutorial on using  Krita.

 

Polish caricatures

A couple of my latest caricatures which aim at Polish politicians - mainly Jarosław Kaczyński. Situation in Poland is getting pretty interesting nowadays and unfortunately not in a good way. Democracy is seriously endangered. I decided to speak up through my caricatures. 

Science of the Discworld and Dodger

Some of my first Terry Pratchett illustrations were actually the ones for the Science of the Discworld part 1, 2 ,3 and 4. I enjoyed them immensely as for the first time I had a chance to paint my favourite characters in such number! I was also asked to create a cover for Dodger, a novel by Terry Pratchett that takes place in old London.

I am a huge Terry Pratchett fan. I have been for years. I remember reading his books in high school, laughing out loud, startling other people. I was super happy and proud when I was asked to do a series of book cover illustrations to his novels for German market. I started with the "Science of the Discworld" series, followed by the original Discworld series. Here they are:
